You are an entire gale force weather system! I mean that as the deepest compliment with the utmost respect. And I am so with you, the joy of listening to a story? Unbeatable.
Haha, in that case, I want a balmy rain followed by the skies clearing and the forest scent filling my nose! Neko, which of these memories did you keen to?
Hi everyone: I’ve gotten a few comments on my story, which you know I DEARLY love, and I can tell the commenter/reader didn’t get a chance to listen to the phone calls — the primary material.
They don’t realize their comment is “off-topic, off-tone” — not in keeping with what was relayed.
It’s the old, “I didn’t read the book but here’s what I have to say about it!” problem.
Believe me, I have been guilty of this myself.
We all *think* we know how we felt or what we said in 2007. (Or yesterday for that matter).
But apparently the historical record contradicts us!
The range of reactions around 2007, (and you can hear it so clearly in the calls) was not “all one thing.” Not smug. Very thoughtful and a lot of family history.
It made me pause. The relationship to what’s happening TODAY is edifying.
So… please do weigh in— I love it— but *eat the meal first,* haha. I think it will influence your reaction.
I felt about Obama’s election as I did about 9/11. Same old shit dressed up in fancy clothes. Wall Street rule. Terrorism due to political impotence.
You’ll be interested in listening to Sue and Michael’s call.
