I can see that RS editor freakout like it's in the room with me. I caused one of those, back in the day. Luckily, my piece ran.

I’m wondering where one even buys that Ukrainian tractor book (don’t fret, I’m about to go look).

It’s popular on Amazon and any bookstore would grab it. It’s a satire! I just got it, can’t wait to dig in. Also it’s at my library, and I bet yours!

Oh boy. I thought it would be about tractors. This sounds fun!

I assume you're aware of bookshop.org, Susie, and was surprised that your link for "Trackers in Ukranian" was to amazon (though I guess I already knew this, have clicked on your links before, and understand the value of a few ¢ earned via affiliate links)... So if you/anyone wants to support local indie bookstores instead of Bezos' empire, see https://bookshop.org/p/books/a-short-history-of-tractors-in-ukrainian-marina-lewycka/11692095

I’ve used Bookshop.org in the past and unfortunately the books my readers ordered, didn’t reach their destination and bookshop.org wouldn’t help me get the orders fulfilled. Which is wild! I mean, that’s the only thing they do, is fill orders. Hence, I suggest people just use Amazon as a reference link and then buy the books anywhere they like or borrow them from the library. I hate to go into all this embarrassing backstory, but after all my years in the book business, it’s just absurd how hard it is to get a book in the mail.

Wild indeed! Have you discussed this with them? It does seem like they would want to fix this issue and not lose the business you could bring them!

I didn't see the survey (DANG) but you know me, somewhat at least. Try some Sorokin BTW -- Russian post-Soviet Burroughs. Doesn't use cut-ups but is dark and truly inventive. _Day of the Oprichnek_. OR, there's Pelevin with _Homo Zapiens_ which writes from a background of 90's post-Soviet Union Putin mafia Russia. Few in the US know about these books, or I am probably not talking to the right people. Anyway... you already have more than enough till year's end but maybe next year?

Anyway, you have an amazing group of readers! No surprise! I am enjoying the posts so much. I imagine they appeal to all kinds. Congrats!

I’m mourning the loss of the LUG/FUG piece. We really could have used that one.
