I made ramen with American cheese last night because I’m a sick girl in bed, and missing all the fun.

I have a Korean scholar coming to visit us for an academic term this winter. I know he’s going to have a bit of shock on the food scene here, and I want to make sure we’re well stocked to get him through the culture clash.

Luckily we live in California; Korean groceries and restaurants are popular. I went to “H Mart,” a Korean (and other Asian) supermarket in San Jose, where an innocent shopper like myself could easily go BANKRUPT purchasing many temptations.
