If I have done one good thing in my career as an advocate, it’s been to educate artists about what the hell they’re signing.
Artist contracts do not have to be the source of tears, bewilderment, and regret, although publishing legacies are littered with such stories.
I consider my activism and educational work with authors and artists to be right up there with pointing out where the clitoris is. It is NOT DIFFICULT, you just have to find what you’re looking for.
Yes, it’s that important. Your creativity is everything; protect it!
