Here’s where I looked, that had any pickings at all.

—Put in a search terms as I describe and see how it goes. If there is no return on “lesbian” or “clitoris” — you aren’t going to find anything remotely better. There are no “dyke” listings, ANYWHERE. Disgraceful.

“Feminist,” unfortunately returns with namby-pamby results. “Gay Pride,” even worse. Of course, if you look up iconic badass figures, like Marlene Dietrich, or Calamity Jane, it’s better. The vintage film people, especially. I got so desperate I looked up colloquial terms for unruly women, like “bitch,” “broad,” “hippy chick,” anything that to mind. “Cowgirl”! Don’t bother with “strong woman,” —oh, what a dump. It’s so literal; it’s bicep curls.

Now you might wonder, “Do you mostly get banal porn results?”

I didn’t care if I did, but I did not! There really is a scarcity of active women GIFs in any capacity. —Looking like anything other than decorative, or maternal.

Here’s another weird research fact: Most of the results for “lesbian” are GIFs of men having reaction shots to the word — embarrassed, humiliated, taken aback, etc. There’s no female figures in the GIF. Some of them are funny or authentic; it’s just that that’s the only result you get!

Here’s a few I actually found useful:

GIPHY (so huge that you’ll find virtually anything, yet has the “Dick Van Dyke” problem. No search returns for “dykes”)

https://www.reddit.com/r/gifs/ (They have an artistic vibe. I find tangential things I like).

Tumblr. (You use the top search bar to look up hashtags. There are more artists and uppity women here, so worth digging. Remember, each one is a diamond!)

Imgflip (this has poor GIF search results, none for lesbian, and only “Dick Van Dyke.” But there are some good good single lesbian images, so that means it’s worth it to keep hunting. Also, they have tools to make your own, which I haven’t tried yet).
