Susie, of all people I am so dismayed that you’re not pronouncing her name right. She says it herself all the time it’s Comma-La, like the word comma, followed by la. Please. You have so many followers, please say her name right. The Republicans pronounce it every which way in a deliberate act of disrespect. We need to get it right.

Sorry for the editing screwup! — and Amanda, as someone who brings people together like the hostess with the mostess as you are, I’m curious—what’s going on in Boston, Cambridge, etc/?

I’m not in Boston/Cambridge anymore I’m in Northampton! We are all excited! For now just lots of letters and postcards. In the fall hopefully canvassing (not here of course I think we’re like 96% blue), waiting for my broken ankle to heal, I am hopeful. I’m hopeful about everything now!! 🙌💗

I’m far left like Susie. I voted twice for Democrats, 1964 and 2022. This time I am a single issue voter. The Republican Party has targeted my 16 year old trans grandchild. They want to destroy this harmless little person, who is already having a rough go of it. So I’ll vote blue up and down the ballot for people I despise.

David, I know you’ll be amazed to hear this— I was— but people on Twitter, much younger than us, are actually talking about Trotsky’s “Fascism: What it is and How to Fight it” — as basic tenets of popular front organizing, and how shortsighted liberals, so to speak, lost to Hitler because they realized the stakes too late. What a trip.

It's very disappointing to hear you speak so positively about a sponsor of FOSTA/SESTA, which got so many sex workers killed, assaulted, trafficked, or unhoused, who also refused to investigate police for sexually exploiting an underage sex worker.

Yes, I voted for KH’s opponent in Senate in the past for this very reason: FOSTA-SESTA. The Dems and GOP have been unrestrained shits on all matters involving sex work.

This is the struggle of popular front work. A bitter pill indeed. Same goes for everyone involved in Palestinian movement, civil rights of all kinds, international genocide disasters the US has engineered. How do we pressure and leverage the choices we have? Who would we rather be pushing?

As I said in the podcast, I’m not for twisting anyone’s arm if they don’t see it that way. But who are the candidates and grass roots sex work initiatives we can press on, now, when politics is in the air? I would actually like to sign a group letter, and publicize it from sex workers and their allies who are holding their noses and voting for Harris, while at the same time telling her, “You need to get your shit straight. You owe us.”
